Craiss starts the training year with five new apprentices
"We view training as a long-term investment in the future of our company. We are all the more pleased that we were able to fill all open training positions for 2026 at an early stage. With our new young talents, we welcome five young people who already impressed during the application process with their motivation and enthusiasm for the profession," says Laura Engelhardt, Team Lead HR – People & Culture at Craiss.
The three new prospective freight forwarding and logistics services clerks are completing their training at the Mühlacker and Bretten locations, while the prospective warehouse specialist is training in Mühlacker. The fifth new employee will now be trained in Mühlacker as an IT specialist for system integration.
Diverse Welcome Program
On the first day, the focus was particularly on getting to know each other: "As a family business, we strive to retain our new employees at Craiss in the long term. Therefore, it is important to us that they feel comfortable from day one and get to know the people they will be working with in the future," says Engelhardt. The program on Tuesday included an introduction to the company's structure and the training process, a joint lunch, and a casual meet-and-greet with management, trainers, and future colleagues. Another highlight is the cross-year trainee excursion in the second week of September, where trainees from all three years and the newly qualified come together in a relaxed atmosphere.
Initial Insights into Different Areas
In the coming days, initial training and insights into the different areas of the company will follow. The trainees will, among other things, get to know the fleet and even have the opportunity to sit in a truck themselves. "Training at Craiss means getting to know the diversity of logistics. We aim to develop our trainees step by step into well-rounded professionals who recognize connections and think across different areas," explains Engelhardt.
This involves not only imparting professional skills but also promoting personal strengths. "Initiative, willingness to learn, and the ability to think outside the box are important prerequisites for successful training - and it is precisely this development that we promote at Craiss. Those who are committed will find diverse opportunities to further develop both professionally and personally with us, even after training," says Engelhardt. This includes, for example, continuing education to become a specialist or the possibility of dual study.
In 2026, five former trainees will remain with the company after completing their training and will continue to support Craiss in the areas of warehouse logistics and office management, as well as in roles such as freight forwarding clerks and IT specialists.
