The Alfred Schuon Group welcomes nine young professionals to the start of their careers.
"We are proud that this year, nine young talents have again decided to pursue their training with Schuon. As a family business, it is particularly important to us to qualify, support, and guide aspiring professionals in their development," says Heike Kreidler, Head of Training at the Alfred Schuon Group. With the nine newcomers, the corporate group is currently training a total of 20 apprentices and one dual student.
Personal Exchange at the Start of Training
In addition to professional preparation for their career, Schuon places great emphasis on ensuring that new employees feel valued in the company from the very beginning. “During the introduction week, the foundation for future collaboration is laid. Our goal is to work together successfully in the long term – therefore, a successful start to training for us includes not only the introduction to daily work. Rather, the focus is on personal exchange,” says Kreidler.
This year, the new employees include three trainees from Morocco who were placed with the family business through a Moroccan language school. “To ensure our new employees feel comfortable from day one, we actively support them at the start in Germany – for example, with administrative appointments – and provide them with accommodation in our employee house,” says Kreidler and adds: “Diversity and an international team have always been an important pillar of Schuon’s company culture. We see this as an enrichment for the entire company.”
Introduction Week with Insights into Logistics
In the first week, the program for newcomers includes introductions to the various fields of activity at Schuon as well as getting to know the team and working methods. This includes a tour of administration and the workshop, as well as visits to the logistics sites in Wildberg. A highlight of the introduction program is obtaining the forklift license – an additional qualification that is not only relevant for cross-training deployments in the warehouse but also strengthens the sense of community.
Different Paths to Training at Schuon
The new employees have found their way to the Haiterbach family-owned company through various paths: training fairs, the apprentice information day, personal contacts, or initial own experiences with Schuon from holiday jobs and internships. The three young talents from Morocco have taken a particularly big step: they switched to a language school and obtained the B1 certificate in order to start training in Germany. Ultimately, they decided on training as professional drivers at the Alfred Schuon Group – a mutual demonstration of trust. Interested parties can already apply for the training year 2027 or a dual study program at Schuon.
