"We are convinced that the success of a company is shaped by the people who create it. This applies to us from the first day of training," emphasizes Markus Dodt, CEO of Sievert Logistik SE, and adds: "Our trainees are fully-fledged team members from the very beginning, taking on responsibility and bringing in their own perspectives. We are very pleased to welcome them to Sievert Logistik."
Practical experience takes center stage
The new trainees have gradually started their professional lives over the past few weeks. Aileen, Alexsej, Christian, and Leah are being trained as clerks for freight forwarding and logistics services. Marius is an aspiring professional driver. The cohort is complemented by Manuel and Elias, who are training as vehicle mechatronics technicians for commercial vehicles, and Gaia, who is starting her training as an office management clerk. Currently, a total of 22 young professionals are undergoing training at the logistics service provider.
At Sievert Logistik, the training emphasizes a strong practical orientation. To achieve this, the logistics service provider relies on personal mentoring and insights into various fields of activity. The aspiring clerks, for example, rotate through all relevant areas. They learn about scheduling, customer service, and warehouse management, experiencing the profession from different perspectives and interacting with employees from various departments. During school holidays, trainees also have the opportunity to get to know other locations. Bärbel Ull, a trainer in Lengerich, explains: "Our trainees find clear structures and fixed contacts with us, but at the same time, they have room to develop individually."
Networking with Other Training Companies
Through membership in the Competence Network Individual Logistics e. V. (KNI), the training cohort also looks beyond their own company: joint company visits and networking meetings with other training companies showcase the diversity of the logistics industry. In addition, Sievert Logistics expands the training program through regular participation in training fairs. At the Social Day Lengerich, trainees can also engage in social projects. "For us, the school diploma is not the only thing that counts in the application. If someone can explain why they are interested in logistics, what motivates and drives them, these are decisive factors for us," Ull explains.
After a successful graduation at Sievert Logistics, the chances of being taken on are traditionally very good: many employees are themselves former trainees of the logistics service provider. Dodt explains: "We want to offer our trainees an education that convinces them professionally and personally of Sievert Logistics as an employer and opens up long-term prospects for them with us."
