Eisenhart Laeppché is automating its intralogistics at the company's headquarters in Wilhelmshaven. The wholesaler and manufacturer of rolling bearings and linear technology has commissioned Jungheinrich with the planning and implementation of a new distribution center. The facility combines an automated small parts warehouse with an automated narrow aisle warehouse and goods-to-person order picking. The background is increasing order volumes, which have pushed the previous manual small parts picking to its capacity limits.

The automated small parts warehouse has 14,904 container spaces in double-deep storage. Three stacker cranes of the type "STC 2B1A" handle the storage and retrieval. An additional 3,870 spaces for pallets are being created in an automated narrow-aisle warehouse. Two narrow-aisle forklifts of the type "EKX 516ka" serve the high-bay warehouse. The usable building height is 9.7 meters.

Order Picking According to Goods-to-Person Principle

Six ergonomically designed workstations connect the two storage areas with the order picking. Four workstations are intended for containers and two for pallets. Jungheinrich also supplies the container and pallet conveyor technology, the racking system, the control system including visualization, as well as the warehouse management system.

The facility is designed for future expansions. The small-parts warehouse can be supplemented with two additional aisles, and up to three additional automated narrow aisle trucks are planned for the narrow aisle warehouse. The commissioning of the new distribution center is planned for the second quarter of 2027.
