Movianto links cold storage and pharmaceutical distribution in Wiesloch

In September 2026, Movianto opened a new pharmaceutical logistics center in Wiesloch. The logistics service provider, which belongs to Yusen Logistics, has a total of 44,400 pallet spaces available in different temperature areas. The site in the VGP Park Wiesloch-Walldorf comprises around 30,000 square meters of warehouse space and 1,500 square meters of office space. Full operation is expected to begin in November 2026.

Multiple Temperature Zones for Pharmaceutical Products

Of the total 44,400 pallet spaces, 32,000 are allocated to a temperature-controlled area ranging from 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. Another 10,000 spaces are designated for products that need to be stored at two to eight degrees Celsius. According to Movianto, this significantly expands its cooling storage capacity for pharmaceuticals in Germany.

For deep-frozen storage, a total of 2,400 pallet spaces are available at minus 20 and minus 26 degrees Celsius. Additionally, ultra-deep freezing down to minus 80 degrees Celsius should be possible in specialized freezers. The different temperature zones are intended among other things for vaccines, biologics, and other temperature-sensitive health products.

Connection to European Distribution Network

The logistics center is located near the A5 and A6 motorways and is connected to Eurotranspharma's distribution network specialized in healthcare logistics. The network offers specialized delivery services in nine European countries and links storage, the assumption of manufacturing tasks according to pharmaceutical standards, temperature-controlled transportation, and final delivery.

According to the company, Eurotranspharma's dual-chamber vehicles can transport products in two different temperature ranges simultaneously. The vehicles actively maintain goods during transport at temperatures of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius or two to eight degrees Celsius.

Processes Planned According to Good Manufacturing Practice

In addition to storage in different temperature zones, Movianto is planning to introduce processes according to Good Manufacturing Practice in the cooling area at the Wiesloch site. This is intended to enable additional services for pharmaceutical customers who require specialized handling and manufacturing support under controlled temperature conditions.

According to the company, the facility is designed as a storage and distribution center for national and international logistics chains of pharmaceutical and healthcare products. Up to 180 employees are to be employed at the site. The premises were designed to be barrier-free.
