TGW Logistics joins AI innovation network

TGW Logistics participates as a Founding Anchor Partner in a new innovation network by Plug and Play in Austria. On the initiative of the state of Upper Austria, the network founded in Silicon Valley is setting up a center of excellence for Artificial Intelligence in industry on the campus of Johannes Kepler University in Linz. The collaboration focuses on Physical AI and Industrial AI.

According to TGW Logistics, the partnership is intended to help transfer applications with Artificial Intelligence into industrial practice more quickly. To this end, the company aims to network with start-ups as well as technology and industrial companies.

Artificial Intelligence Already in Use

According to a statement from TGW Logistics, artificial intelligence is already being used in internal processes and customer projects. The intralogistics specialist cites the picking robot "RovoFlex" as an example. The system is based on machine learning methods and is already in use at several companies.

According to the company, RovoFlex expands its capabilities with each gripping operation. TGW Logistics uses artificial intelligence, among other things, for applications in automated picking.

Focus on Physical AI and Industrial AI

By participating in the network, the system integrator is particularly focusing on Physical AI and Industrial AI. The company sees potential in these areas for more efficient and flexible processes as well as for new business models.

Through Plug and Play, TGW Logistics gains access to an international network of startups as well as technology and industrial companies. The goal is to make new technologies usable for specific industrial applications more quickly.
