New Jungheinrich ETV 4i lifts at up to 1.6 meters per second

Jungheinrich started the sale of the new reach truck ETV 4 on September 1, 2026. The vehicle is designed for high-rack applications with high turnover requirements and offers load capacities ranging from 1.4 to 2.5 tons and lift heights of up to 14 meters, depending on the model. The manufacturer cites distribution centers, production supply, and multi-shift operations as areas of application.

Lift and Lower Faster

A key focus of the new development is on the lifting, lowering, and reach speeds. Several functions designed for these purposes come as standard equipment. With "Lifting Pro," the reach truck, according to Jungheinrich, achieves a lifting speed of up to 1.6 meters per second without a load. According to the manufacturer, the function doubles the lifting speed. Jungheinrich describes the value as the highest lifting speed within the vehicle class on the market.

The "Lowering Pro" function, according to the company, increases the lowering speed to up to 1.2 meters per second, thereby also doubling the speed. With "Reach Pro," Jungheinrich further increases the reach speed according to their own statements. This should allow for shorter process times, especially during frequent pallet movements and at great lift heights. Overall, the manufacturer indicates up to 20 percent higher productivity.

Hydraulics Support Mast Movements

The hydraulic control of the ETV 4i features semi-automated auxiliary functions. It is designed to ensure a smooth mast transition even at high speeds, thereby supporting controlled loading and unloading.

The increased speed in lifting and lowering is particularly aimed at applications with high storage levels. There, the vertical movements correspond to a significant portion of the duration of a loading or unloading cycle.

Lithium-Ion Battery Fully Integrated

Jungheinrich equips the ETV 4i with a fully integrated lithium-ion battery. It enables fast and intermediate charging and is intended to support high vehicle availability, especially in multi-shift operations. According to the manufacturer, a battery change is not required.

Additionally, due to the integration of the battery, a traditional battery tray is no longer needed. Combined with the compact vehicle concept, this is expected to improve visibility of load arms and loads. At the same time, the reach truck is designed for use in narrow working aisles.
