Uelzena and Körber start the final phase of the SAP transformation

Uelzena and Körber have launched the final phase of the cross-site modernization of the dairy cooperative's logistics environment. As Körber announced, the implementation of the SAP EWM Business Blueprint will now take place at the main site in Uelzen. The productive start, planned for 2027, aims to complete the transition of the logistics processes to SAP EWM and SAP TM, which has been underway since 2020.

Uelzena processes around 750 million kilograms of raw milk annually from regional suppliers into various dairy products. The resulting logistics environment is being modernized by the company step by step together with Körber. According to the provider, the cooperation between the two companies has existed for almost 20 years.

As early as 2020, Uelzena migrated the central SAP system at the main site as well as at the subsidiaries Altmark Käserei in Bismark and Schoppe & Schulz in Ratzeburg to SAP S/4HANA. Subsequently, the previous logistics modules SAP LE-WM and SAP LE-TRA were gradually and site-specifically replaced by SAP EWM and SAP TM. The systems were integrated into the processes of quality management and production supply.

Several locations already converted

In 2022, Uelzena implemented embedded SAP EWM at the Altmark cheese factory. Two years later, the migration from SAP WM to SAP EWM was carried out at Schoppe & Schulz.

In 2026, transport management was also converted to embedded SAP TM. This means that Uelzena transferred not only warehouse management but also transport logistics to the new system landscape.

High-Bay Warehouse to be Integrated

In the now started final phase of the project, SAP EWM is to be implemented at the headquarters in Uelzen. Additionally, it is planned to connect Körber's "K.OneX PMS" system to the existing automatic high-bay warehouse there.

"K.OneX PMS" consists of a Warehouse Management System and material flow control. Hence, the last phase of the project not only includes the transition to the warehouse management software but also the integration of the existing automated warehouse technology. The completion of the transformation is planned with the scheduled start of operations in Uelzen in 2027.
