With Element Logic to an automated warehouse: Zander Freiburg relies on 20 robots and 40,000 containers

Since 2015, the Warehouse Management System from Element Logic has been controlling the logistics processes. Goods receipt, picking, shipping, and returns are already handled system-supported and largely paperless. With the new AutoStore project, Zander Freiburg is expanding its automation landscape with a highly compact storage system and automated processes for the downstream material flow. “We have gradually developed our logistics over the past few years. Automation Does Not End at the Autostore
The material flow control of the new conveyor system is managed by the "eController" from Element Logic. Additionally, the warehouse management software is still in use. It integrates the new automated areas into the existing processes and IT landscape. By combining the control levels, orders, inventories, and goods movements can be coordinated across systems. The technical concept aims to depict the Autostore system, the workstations, the conveyor technology, as well as the carton erecting and sealing machine as a unified material flow. Thus, Element Logic not only provides the delivery of individual systems but also the realization and integration of an end-to-end intralogistics solution. "The new order shows how a longstanding partnership can evolve into comprehensive end-to-end collaboration. Based on our modular software portfolio and our hardware expertise, we can accurately automate logistics processes in terms of storage, picking, packaging, and transport from goods receipt to goods issue," explains Joachim Kieninger, Director Strategic Business Development at Element Logic Germany.
